Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial championship for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's initial trophy since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court since that period of the previous year.

Victory also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, supported by an better serve.

The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The pair exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional victory, took control to create a third set.

The opponent rescued four initial opportunities in a tight final set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
